Tooling System The Olympic Seiki HSK-II tooling
system offers simultaneous dual contact (or
double-plane-restricted) of spindle face and toolholder flange
face, as well as the machine spindle taper and tool holder
shank. The Olympic Seiki HSK-II tooling system takes full advantages
of HSK tooling system and uses the most widely available BT
pullstud as clamping interface. As a result the run-out of the
spindle is minimized and balance is significantly improved
especially at high spindle speeds.
Customer's existing HSK tool holders can be used on Olympic
Seiki machines only by adding on BT pullstuds; On the other
hand, the Olympic Seiki HSK-II tool holders turn back to
normal HSK type simply by unscrewing the pullstuds, and
therefore are 100% compatible with HSK. For machine tool builders, the
complicated and expensive HSK clamping device is no longer
necessary, the manufacturing process of the spindle is
simplified as well. This contributes to the cost down of
the machine tools. |
